Work is scheduled to start next year on a £100million revamp of Plymouth’s railway station – but the Government wants foreign investors to pay for it.
Dr Liam Fox, International Trade Secretary, is touting the ambitious scheme, which includes a hotel and multi-storey car park, to overseas speculators.
It is understood the project is not under threat – with the council having already pledged £5million – but the Government is looking at ways of paying for it and so is pitching it abroad. Plymouth’s Railway Station and the £100 million pound question – Cornwall Live
