Rother Valley – a railway in waiting – The Railway Magazine

THE Rother Valley Railway has been created to reconnect the Kent & East Sussex Railway (KESR), currently running to Bodiam, with the main line at Robertsbridge, on the Tonbridge to Hastings Line, a distance of two miles.

A new station and platform and other facilities with extensive trackwork have been installed alongside the main line station at Robertsbridge.

Track has been laid towards Bodiam with assistance from Network Rail trainees.

Planning approval for the line was granted on March 16, 2017, but it has not been possible to complete the work because two short sections of land in private ownership have yet to be acquired. Rother Valley – a railway in waiting – The Railway Magazine
