Talgo announces shortlist for first UK base and 1,000 new jobs
Talgo has announced that a Welsh port is in the running to be the Spanish train manufacturer’s first UK base, potentially creating up to 1,000 jobs.
Mostyn Port in Flintshire has been shortlisted, as reported by the BBC, alongside three locations in England and two in Scotland for the site of a 40,000sq metre facility which will be used to manufacture rolling stock.
The company specialises in the design, manufacture and servicing of fast lightweight trains, and plans to produce new trains to supply rail franchises in the UK, including HS2, and to export around the globe.
The search for Talgo’s new base has been ongoing for the last 18 months, and the chosen factory site will see 1,000 new jobs. Talgo announces shortlist for first UK base and 1,000 new jobs
